The ROADS to Success are Always Under Construction

Today marked the first day of filming Roads, which is Kane's short film about a couple driving home from a party and hitting a man on his bike and injuring him before taking him captive to avoid getting in trouble with the police. This shoot was an evening shoot to film the car hitting Conner's character.

Makeup was called for 6:30 and took an hour to do HD makeup on Sol, HD party makeup on Sophie and the facial injuries on Conner. We got to set at around 8pm, Kane had originally said that the shoot will last till 9/9:30 however after waiting for Kelly to bring the mat for Conner to fall onto and set up the shot the first take was at 20:53 (it was at this point we realised that the shoot was going to be longer than originally planned).

An issue that we had to think about was lighting, the first shots were still in sunset and dusk however as the shoot continued it became fully dark, meaning it was important that all the shots were lit the same and brightly enough to be seen on camera but still show it was night.

We used the headlights from the car and a light box on the camera, we had to keep turning the car off so that the battery wouldn't drain. I followed the dialogue, ready to prompt the actors if needs be.

We wrapped the scene at 10:45pm.
