Today we filmed my video again, I used my own SD cards so I didn't have to worry about getting the footage off and deleted immediately. I set up the scene the same as I had the first time and managed to get 2/3 of the way through before I was faced with another issue - the light died. We believe the light overheated and cut off to prevent further damage, we did not have another light therefore had to stop filming. I had only managed to talk about the nomination process and politics and could not talk about the diversity in the awards which was the main thing I wanted to talk about and follow up on in my post-Oscars video. We could not continue because the scene would look differently and continuity would be affected, we also could not film again as we did not have the time therefore I had the decision to film my outro/ending by reframing the whole thing so that it was just a close up of me from a straight on angle rather than side angle.
(Friday)
I then edited my video, including the graphics we decided on as a group and making sure to use all 3 camera angles. In my script I had written that I would include 2 videos of previous acceptance speeches that I was referencing to, I added these in during post then exported the video, I found the videos on YouTube and downloaded them. Because my video was going up on the Friday night, I scheduled my video as I knew I would be out at the normal time of 8pm, I scheduled a Facebook post and tweet about the video. However the video was blocked because it included copyright media, I did not know this would happen as I thought the video was in the public domain. I filed a dispute and later on the video was unblocked, this was 2 hours after the desired time but at least it was working, I tweeted the link and Matthew wrote a Facebook post.
I will remember this for next time and be careful when wanting to use other videos.
Matty and Kane
After filming my video we filmed Matty and Kane's predictions video which will be the last video up on the YT channel. This went reasonably well, we set the scene with the only 2 lights working using the overhead lights as well.
I was a camera operator on this shoot, manning Matty's closeup camera, I had to make sure Matty was always in shot and the framing was right.
