Saturday Morning Filming

Today, myself and Taylor filmed for a promotional video Ufilms is making for local business Page2Stage. We are making 2 videos, one for the Page2Stage party business and one for the drama classes that are offered to children and teens. Myself and Taylor had not been a part of either project but we offered to help film since Chloe and Matty, who are the project managers, needed to be on screen as they are part of the youth theatre.

We started filming at 10am at Little Stars, which is the class for younger children. We filmed them playing games at the start, then asked some children questions about why they liked Little Stars then filmed them singing. Both myself and Taylor were filming so between both of us we had a range of shots with Taylor getting more close ups whereas I got more group shots.
We did not film the whole session as we knew we had to film Youth Theatre as well, Little Stars had been previously filmed but after an unfortunate mishap with a hard drive the footage was lost and since the classes run weekly we know that we can always film again a week later if not enough footage was recorded or during the editing process a pick up can be done.

From this we moved to the Youth Theatre which includes the older children, we filmed some of the game at the start of the session but the room was very busy therefore making it hard to get a range of shots. When the children spilt off into groups I stayed with the Robin Hood group and Taylor went with the Connections group, the children were rehearsing their lines therefore I got a range of footage of them acting out their lines. Since they were rehearsing I did not interrupt them to ask for their opinions about Page 2 Stage. Another session will need to be filmed but with the footage that we already have from shows etc it should not take more than that.

Overall, the filming went really well, we had to stop filming because a camera battery died but we believed that enough footage of this session had been recorded.
