I created a CV detailing all of the pieces of work I had worked on and the roles I had on each shoot.
Then I created a show reel which shows my main pieces of work that I was heavily involved in. I chose to include the music video as I edited my own version, my advert as I was the director, DOP and editor for this and my short film as I directed and edited this. I did not include my other projects - The Spider and the Fly and the Christmas Scrooge advert because I was the production manager/co-ordinator for them and believed that showing the films would not demonstrate my skills in them, yes the paperwork was needed in order for the films to be produced however they do not show my strengths (or weaknesses) when completing the paperwork. I included a photograph at the end showing me as the boom operator for The Incident. I used sections of my films keeping the sound rather than chopping it into a montage with a song in the background, this is because the music video matches the song and I believe it would not look right if a different song was played over top. The advert is my least favourite piece of work but I decided to include as it shows my (limited) editing skills. The short film includes dialogue which is why I kept the accompanying sound for this.
I will update my show reel next college year when I have been involved more. Next college year I want to take on more practical roles probably directing as I enjoyed this role during Short Films and want to increase my skills and ability.
I will use my show reel when I am applying for universities and they wish to see my work.

I wrote a covering/application letter that will go with my CV when I apply for a job, I found a job on productionbase.co.uk and wrote a letter applying for that job. The downfall of online adverts is that you need an account in order to find out most information and that it is not easy to find the company you are applying to and the person who will read it therefore my letter is not addressed to anyone in particular and I could not include any information or research about the company. I made it clear which role I was applying for and why I might be best suited for that job.
