Scheduling

After auditions were complete we could finally start scheduling, or at least try to. Scheduling is quite frankly one of the most hard and stressful things I've ever done however I quite enjoyed it. When all 3 films in Small Screen Productions was cast we could then work out when they were available to shoot.
The Production Board
For this we created cards for each scene to then arrange what would be filmed on what day over the 2 weeks available, since a new scene is when a location changes the cards were normally arranged by location on each day, for example for The Spider and The Fly all scenes filmed at the characters bed room are going to be filmed on one day - this is a prime example of how filming is done non-linear. My script only has 2 scenes therefore I created my cards a lot quicker than others, on the cards you had to state the scene number and length (this is measured in 8ths of a page), the characters, props, makeup, effects needed and the location. We used this board to organise what would be filmed when, we had to work along side the other 2 production teams as we were sharing actors.
Shoot schedules
I was Production Co-ordinator for The Spider and the Fly so I created the shoot schedule, this is a schedule for each day of filming stating the scenes and page of the scrip they were on, characters, props, makeup. I had a little hard time with this because the scenes in the script didn't always correspond with the scenes on the cards because the script scenes did not always change with location, I had to look through the script to find the scene so that I could write the description, this took longer than I thought it would, as I had to do this for all 6 days we are shooting. I then did the same thing for my own film, Luggage in Limbo.
