Work Experience

Today I took part in the filming of a mini web series called Jenny Jennings.
My contact was Jay Moussa-Mann, I was originally contacting her via email but then through Facebook.

I was given the shoot schedule and call sheet a couple days prior.
Crew call was at 7am at 5 Bohouse, Sussex Street, Middlesbrough.
We wrapped at 22:15pm.

Jay was the director on the shoot and I was Production Assistant; it was my job to assistant Jay in anything she needed as well as helping Rob (DOP) and Emily (Producer) in setting up or making changed between takes or episodes as well as during takes if a cue was needed or in the case of the last episode running in the background to create a shadow.

Emily was in charge of health and safety and I knew that if I encountered a problem I could approach her. I identified where the fire escapes were and made sure to be aware of any electrical wires around on set.

I was on set from 7am to 1pm for the morning shoot and then from 7pm till 10:30 pm totalling to 9 and a half hours.

The episodes will air in the upcoming weeks, I was part of the filming of the first 5 episodes with the last scenes of episode 6 being filmed at a later date.

I learnt lots from being on-set and watching how Rob would set up the lights and how by changing the lights or adding a gel the whole feel, tone and scene would change. I loved being a part and am very thankful to Jay, Emily and Rob for letting me watch and shadow them.
