Post Production Prep

Wednesday 11th November

Today I started the post-production for my music video, even though we filmed in a group we will each edit a music video - this means all 4 will turn out differently due to the amount of shots we got from different angles.
To make editing easier, I started off separating my footage into bins (folders) and naming them; this will help make editing locating shots easier. Also, during this time I decided which shots I would keep and use and which were unusable - there weren't many that needed deleting as during filming we deleted shots as we went along.
I started by naming my bins after the 3 separate scene we shot, I then separated the footage into each scene, this was fairly easy as the 3 scenes had
very different and easily identifiable locations.

I started naming the shots, I named the type of shot it was e.g. Master Shot or Over the Shoulder; then I added a small description of what it was e.g. fight or Jenny or Brandon.

With Scene 2 we did numerous shots from the same angle showing Brandon singing different parts of the song, this made it hard to name separately so most of them had the same name with a number next to it - the higher the number, the further through the song.

After this I started editing, before doing this though I had to set up Premier Pro properly. I started a new project and set it up in the way the camera had filmed.

Thursday 12th November
Today, after looking at the budget of the music video and making an estimate on how much it would have cost in the real world I continued editing my music video. Yesterday, I started at the beginning but couldn't decide what I wanted to do so I moved to further through the song. I didn't have much difficulty syncing up the singing to audio however at some points some words match and others don't - this is from when we filmed the singing and it wasn't completely in time. Today, I finished the first verse and chorus and then joined up the beginning. I think I will have it finished within 2 more sessions.
