This is the first post of The Journey of Jess the Film Maker, I am a BTEC Creative Media (Film & TV Production) student. I set up this blog as a way to document my progress throughout the course as well as promote my upcoming work.
My first post is about a quote I was given in class today.
"My movie is born
first in my head, dies on paper; is resuscitated by the living persons and real
objects I use, which are killed on film but, placed in a certain order and
projected on to a screen, come to life again like flowers in water."
Robert Bresson, a French film director from the 1900s.

I
really like this quote because I feel it perfectly describes film making, it
shows that it is not a linear process and that at times there will be high points
just like there will be low. I believe it proves that the production process has
to be fluid and ever changing to give any small detail to have the ability to forever
change the end result.
